New and never-before-seen images of African-American citizens of Eastern North Carolina by renowned photographer Burk Uzzle. Large color prints depicting people who have made significant contributions to our Eastern North Carolina culture. Twenty vintage images of Martin Luther King's assassination and funeral will be on display. The two exhibits offer stark contrast between one another as well as provoking strong thought and emotion. Both American history and present-day celebration will be reflected in these joint exhibits.Â
In addition, there will be three receptions consisting of musical performances, lectures, dance performances and other associated events by African-American artists.
This exhibition is commissioned by the Greenville Museum of Art.
