The Oakville Diwali Gala is Back with a Bang!

This September 15th, the Oakville Conference Centre will light up and open its doors as the 4th instalment of the Oakville Hospital Diwali Gala gets underway in its spaces. The event is held every year by the Oakville community to not only celebrate the Diwali Festival of Light and Joy, but also support the initiatives of the Oakville Hospital foundation's beneficiary, the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

The gala this year, will be marked by a buffet dinner, raffles, dances, silent auctions and myriad forms of entertainment. Anyone over the age of 15 can attend if they buy the $200 entry ticket.

The 2017 Oakville Hospital Foundation Diwali Gala Chair, Sona Khanna revealed recently that all proceeds from the gala will go to new treatment technologies that will detect illnesses earlier, reduce recovery time and improve overall patient experience at the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.

Over the past three years, the gala has raised nearly half a million dollars for the hospital's different causes. This planning board has set this year's target at $200,000, and over 400 representatives from the GTA region have already been confirmed to attend.

The Diwali Festival traces its roots to South Asia and is celebrated by different communities and millions of people around the world. It is also known as the Festival of Lights, and celebrated to mark the triumph of light over darkness, hope over despair, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance.

The Oakville Hospital Foundation Gala is held in support of The Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, whose care and medical services are of great benefit to the Oakville community and beyond. Already 1.6 million square feet in size, the hospital has recently introduced advanced technologies that are expected to improve patient treatment on a wider scale. The contributions from the past galas have provided support for these advancements, and this year will be no different.

In previous years, attendees have been treated to performances by popular singers, magicians, dancers and the best DJ's in town. For this year's event, RDB lead vocalist Manj Muzik has been tapped to lead the day's entertainment. The promise of an entertaining evening is so great that it’s no surprise tickets are already sold out.

Sponsors for the event are invited to take up the different sponsorship categories present, which include Gold, Silver, Platinum, Presenting and Corporate Table Sponsor. General donations and contributions are always welcome. Donations over $20 will receive a tax receipt.
