The Best Punk Band in Conway Missouri, by Kirby Fields, charts the rise and fall of a fictional band in the Midwest in 1989. Simultaneously theater, oral history, communal storytelling, and punk rock show, this play with music examines the effects of an oppressive father and small-town life on a teenage girl who dreams of getting out on her own and living her life on her own terms.
