Bolingbrook
STEM Association in collaboration with Fountaindale Public
Library Presents:Â
A
Saturday Morning STEM Session Featuring:
Fun with
Snap Circuits
To Include
Electronic Kits and PhET Simulation Activities
Join the Bolingbrook STEM Association as
part of our ongoing Saturday Morning STEM Session series, for an
immersive, hands-on, and fun learning opportunity where students will be introduced to
the basic properties of electricity and electronics. They will learn the
fundamentals behind circuitry, and how circuits are used in all of the
technological devices we use today.
Students will explore the
captivating world of electricity and engage in the basics of circuitry as part
of the BSA Snap Circuits Electronic Kit activities, as well as
participate in a variety of interactive PhET Simulation
Activities.
The project acronym "PhET" originally stood for "Physics
Education Technology," but PhET soon expanded to other disciplines. The
project now designs, develops, and releases interactive simulations for
educational use in the fields of physics, chemistry, biology, earth science,
and mathematics. PhET
Simulation Activities connect and build on students' prior knowledge &
understanding by utilizing simulations that promote the use of critical and evaluative
thinking. The situation feels real, and thus leads students to engage with the
activity more enthusiastically and interactively.
Note: Limited seating capacity available for
20 students. Register as soon as possible! Registration Portal will close once
the capacity has been reached for the session.Â
The session will take place in person at the
Fountaindale Library located at 300 W. Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, IL 60440!
