James Baldwin: The Price of the Ticket IN

In collaboration with The Baton Foundation, the Auburn Avenue Research Library will host a screening of the powerful documentary James Baldwin: The Price of the Ticket. Via striking archival footage and historical newsreels, James Baldwin: The Price of the Ticket intimately captures the passionate intellect and prophetic voice of this iconic writer who demanded Americans, both Black and White, to authentically confront their shared racial tragedy. This film also skillfully connects excerpts from Baldwin's major literary works - Go Tell it on the Mountain, Notes of a Native Son, Another Country, The Fire Next Time, Blues for Mister Charlie, If Beale Street Could Talk – directly to real-time racial conflicts in the United States. This event will include a post screening discussion facilitated by Anthony Knight, Founder and ‎President of The Baton Foundation.
