Indo-American Heritage Museum is holding its 2017 fundraising Gala at the Stanley Field Hall of The Field Museum in Chicago, on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 6 pm.
This event coincides with the showing of the exhibit 'Beyond Bollywood, Indian Americans Shape the Nation', at the Field Museum. Guests will get a chance, while enjoying cocktails and appetizers, to see the exhibit as our expert docents explain the intricacies and nuances of Indian American Heritage and contributions to the fabric of our nation.
Prominent Indian Americans will chair and emcee the event. Dinner will start at 8 pm.
The highlight of the event is the performance of the concerto 'SAMAAGAM" by Ustaad Amjad Ali Khan and his sons Ayaan and Amaan with Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra.
The word 'Samaagam' in Sanskrit means Confluence or flowing together. The concerto explores and blends the DNA of eastern and western musical traditions. A metaphor for Indian American diaspora's existence in the USA.
The event is supported by Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra and Mandala Arts
