"DESDE ADENTRO" immerses us in the vibrant narratives of communities in Puerto Rico. Against the backdrop of economic challenges and the aftermath of the 2017 hurricanes, the film closely follows the stories of three young leaders in Humacao, Carolina, and ComerĂo. In Humacao, VĂctor confront the water appropriation by the U.S. Navy; in Carolina, Nitzayra revitalizes a closed school; and in ComerĂo, Marian addresses security issues post-power outages through the innovative installation of solar lights.
Interweaving these narratives, the evocative voice of Abraham, an astronomy professor and neighbor of Humacao, adds a metaphorical perspective, unveiling the history of what was once the world's largest radio telescope. Woven with the astronomer's narrative, the film metaphorically explores the island's political landscape, underscoring the importance of Puerto Rican history, resilience and sense of community in the face of adversity.
