Black Present Month is a platform to highlight the forward thinking of our community. Traditionally, Black History Month is an annual observance in the United States for remembrance of important people and events in the history of the African diaspora. Black Present Month aims to live in the now and forward to our future.
The purpose of this event is to honor and showcase four Black owned businesses during the month of February. The featured categories are:
- Culinary
- Art
- Journalism
- Technology
- Entrepreneurship
Each category will feature a documentary style interview to explain their business, but most importantly what makes their work Black Present History. The month will culminate with an interactive pop up museum featuring discussions, demonstrations, and showcases.
