An Evening with Ben Burkett

Join Seward Co-op for an evening with our newest farm partner: the Federation of Southern Cooperatives. The Federation of Southern Cooperatives supports the economic development of Black farmers and the rural poor, with an emphasis on land retention and development. Federation board member and farmer Ben Burkett will travel north in a semi-truck brimming with ripe, red watermelons, which will be available for purchase at area co-ops. Help us welcome Ben and, more importantly, honor this important new relationship within our co-op network!

 

A full menu will be available at the Seward Co-op Creamery Café, including a watermelon-inspired special. Remarks will begin at 4:30 p.m.
