"ADHYAYA" Â - Â Art and the Artist , a visual chapter - Madhubani Art exhibit.
Sunday, Sept 17th - 2017 - 3 to 6pm, Throop Studio, 1500 N Throop street, Chicago. IL 60642.
I am Jayashree Rao, founder/ teacher of " Ethnic India". In Ethnic India, we teach Indian folk art called MADHUBANI.  Madhubani art also known as Mithila art and is orginated in Bihar, India  Themes of the Mithila painting revolve around Hindu deities like Krishna, Rama, Lakshmi, Shiva, Durga and Saraswati. The nature themes that are used include the Sun, the Moon and the religious plants like tulsi. One can also find paintings based on scenes from the royal courts and social events, like weddings.
Madhubani art came into my life in 2007 and this year I complete 10 years of Madhubani teaching. After many months of planning and visualizing, my students of "Ethnic India" and I are finally ready to showcase our first "Madhubani Art Exhibition" on September 17, 2017, at Throop Studio, Chicago.  I invite all Madhubani folk art enthusisats  to attend the exhibition, support this dying art and encourage all folk art students who have come together beautifully to celebrate this traditional art form by creating exceptional art work exclusively for this exhibit.
