Please read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) below;

What age group is this trip for?

The annual ski trip is for brothers and sisters ages 14+. The target audience is high school and college age youth but we've also had adults and families join us in the past.

Will there be chaperones on the trip?

We will have older (age 21+) volunteers from the youth committee as chaperones on the bus ride to and from the resort. During the bus ride, we will ask the attendees to make groups or pair themselves with a buddy with whom they’ll stay with on the mountain.

Where will I get the rental equipment?

The rental equipment (Ski/Board + boots  + Helmet) will be provided at the resort if you paid for them while registering. Otherwise you can bring your own equipment or rent from any local store prior to the departure date. (Sports basement is one such store that offers rentals)

What do I need to bring?

You should pack snow clothes including thermal layers, waterproof and breathable outerwear, gloves, ski goggles, warm socks, ski mask/balaclava, lip balm, a water bottle and any personal items (e.g., medications, toiletries).

Please make sure your clothes (jacket/pants/gloves) are waterproof. Anything made of cotton will soak up snow/moisture and wont keep you warm at all.

Are there bathrooms on the bus?

Yes, there will be one bathroom located at the back of the bus.

Can we store our bags on the bus or will we need to get lockers?

Bags can be left on the bus, however we won’t have access to the bus until the end of the day. Lockers are available to rent at the resort.

Is food provided?

Muffins, bananas and snack bars will be provided for everyone on the bus ride there and pizza on the way back for dinner. Lunch can be purchased at the resort or you can pack your own.

Should we come dressed in snow clothes?

You can either come wearing snow clothes or bring them along with you and change at the resort, whatever is more comfortable for you. However, it can save some time at the resort to come dressed in snow clothes especially if you will be getting rental gear or a lesson.

Where will we meet on the day of the event?

We will meet in the parking lot outside the youth lounge (Granda Islamic School main entrance). The bus will leave promptly so please be on time.
