The 1000 Islands Charity Run is extremely proud to bring people from around the US and Canada to Clayton and the Thousand Islands, NY, “The Fresh Water Boating Capital of the World.”
This event is now being brought to you by the Thousand Islands Powerboat Club!!!!
The 1000 Islands Charity Poker Run is a grassroots, volunteer-driven event dedicated to the charitable needs and economic development of the Thousand Islands Region. Our goal is to provide events such as The 1000 Islands Charity Poker Run, as well as other programs and projects that promote and keep the historic integrity of our waterfront district, support programs that keep our community healthy and vibrant, and give visitors and citizens alike unforgettable experiences with the beautiful backdrop of the Thousand Islands.
Dates
The day of the Main Event is July 15th, 2017 with other family-oriented events from July 12th – 16th.
Mission
With the support of dedicated volunteers, the 1000 Islands Charity Poker Run’s mission is threefold:
- Provide an exciting and unique boating event for all to enjoy with spectacular boats and a great atmosphere
- Promote Clayton AND the 1000 Islands area.
- Raise money and awareness for…
- The River Community Wellness Program for Treatment of Veterans
- Town of Clayton Youth Program
- The Clayton Volunteer Fire Department
- The Alexandria Bay Volunteer Fire Department
- Thousand Island Emergency Rescue Service
- The local Food Pantries and local causes TBD
The Goal is to raise money through Corporate Sponsors, an auction, t-shirt sales and Boater entry fees.
** Our goal is to raise $50,000 the first year.**
The 1000 Islands Charity Poker Run has already secured the sponsorship of a national sports water company, AquaHydrate, for this event.
Aqua Hydrate will cross market with 1000 Islands Charity Poker Run and promote their sponsorship of this event through social media. Between Facebook and Twitter they have millions of followers. That is a lot of exposure!!
This event is designed as a family oriented poker run with more events on and off the water and more ‘slow zones’ for safety so visitors can see the beauty of the islands and spectators can get a better view of the boats.
100% of all donations and proceeds will be staying in the community.
