A renowned musician widely recognized as the “Bela Fleck of the hammered dulcimer,” Ted Yoder gained global acclaim in 2016 for his instrumental rendition of “Everybody Wants to Rule the World,” which garnered over 100 million views.
Ted, who has been married for 25 years and is a father of 7, attributes his success in music to the unwavering support and encouragement of his family. A firm believer in finding joy and beauty in the everyday, Ted’s perspective on life was transformed after his family survived a car accident in 2007, which prompted him to question whether he had taught his children how to pursue their dreams and live without regret.
At the age of 35, he took a leap of faith into a music career, which has since been marked by numerous accolades, such as winning the title of 2010 National Hammered Dulcimer Champion, opening for Jake Shimabukuro, and gaining recognition on prominent media outlets like NPR radio and drive time Chicago WGN. He has released 10 albums, performed at Busch Gardens, travelled to a Brazilian island, and performed concerts in 40 of the 50 states.
“It’s impossible to imagine that one wooden stringed instrument can sound like an entire rock band or a whole symphony orchestra all in one.”
