The "Stories in Living Color" series features paired storytellers of different races and communities that have worked together to craft individual but intersecting stories about living with race and discrimination. The goal is to uncover individual biases, unlearn these tendencies, and together help create a sea change in our society.
This event is the fifth in the SILC series produced by the Storytelling Association of California. Our storytelling pairs for the evening are: Angela James & Ed Lewis, and Ollis Mozon & Dana Sherry. Stay for a lively interactive Q&Q between storytellers and audience members following the stories. The evening's emcee is Rocky Ross, host and curator of The Reboot * Storytelling ReImagined, a live story show now on Zoom until it's safe to return to their beloved garden theater under the stars on California's central coast. The Reboot's hybrid mix of diverse tellers sharing true personal stories around the monthly theme along with an occasional dash of spoken word, character sketch, and "impromptu pudding" with the audience makes each run a unique adventure in word play and performance. Rocky's passion is telling stories and coaching one-on-one to bring new voices to The Reboot stage. Story on! facebook.com/the.reboot4u
Tickets are available at either $15, $10, or $5. All proceeds in excess of the cost to produce Stories in Living Color events are donated to organizations that are working for social equity and equality; so please, if you can afford it purchase a $15 or $10 ticket, and if you can't, purchase a $5 ticket, or simply donate what you can; you'll still get a ticket!
